How to use the Geometry Calculator

  1. Select a shape: Square, Rectangle, Circle or Right Triangle.
  2. Enter the dimensions that appear, such as side, width, height, radius or base.
  3. Press Calculate.

Formula and method

Square: area s², perimeter 4s. Rectangle: area w × h, perimeter 2(w + h). Circle: area πr², circumference 2πr. Right triangle: area ½bh.

Worked example

A rectangle 8 by 5 has an area of 40 and a perimeter of 26.
