Formula and method
Area (mĀ²) = Width Ć Length. 1 acre = 4,046.86 mĀ², 1 hectare = 10,000 mĀ² and 1 square mile = 2,589,988 mĀ².
Worked example
A plot 1,000 m by 600 m is 600,000 mĀ², which is about 148.26 acres or 60 hectares.
