Mining profit is a race between two numbers: the value of the coins your hashrate earns and the electricity bill your hardware writes while earning them. This calculator lines both up per day, per month and per year, so profitability is a fact rather than a hope.

How to use this calculator

  • Enter your hashrate and the network's difficulty (or the expected daily coin earnings).
  • Enter your hardware's power draw in watts and your electricity price per kWh.
  • Enter the coin's current price and any pool fee.
  • Press calculate to see revenue, power cost and net profit.

Difficulty is the moving floor

Your earnings per unit of hashrate fall as the total network hashrate rises, because the same block rewards are shared among more miners. A rig profitable today can drift to break-even without its own numbers changing at all, which is why mining arithmetic expires quickly and this estimate wants fresh difficulty and price figures.

Frequently asked questions

How is mining profit calculated?
Profit = (coin earned × coin price) − (power in kW × 24 × electricity price) − pool fees, per day. Hardware wear and purchase cost sit on top of that as longer-term recovery.
What is a good hashrate?
It depends entirely on the coin and its network: what matters is your share of the total network hashrate and the revenue it earns versus your power cost, not the raw number.
How much electricity does mining use?
A modern ASIC draws roughly 3,000 to 3,500 watts continuously, about 75 kWh per day; a GPU rig typically 300 to 800 watts. Power price is usually the difference between profit and loss.
