How to use the Mode Calculator

  1. Enter your data in Data Sequence, separated by commas.

Formula and method

The mode is the value that appears most often. A set can have one mode, several modes or none.

Worked example

In 10, 20, 20, 30, 40, 40, 40 the mode is 40, which appears three times.

Tips

  • Two values with the same top frequency make the data bimodal.
  • The mode also works for categories, such as the most popular colour.
