Revenue Breakdown

Profit is the oldest sum in business: what came in, minus what it cost. This calculator keeps it clean and quick for a single sale, a contract or a whole month, and shows the result both as money and as a percentage of revenue.

How to use this calculator

  • Enter the total revenue.
  • Enter the total costs of earning it.
  • Press calculate to see the profit (or loss) and the profit percentage.

One sum, three uses

Run it per product to find which lines actually earn; per job to price the next one better; and per month to see the business plainly. The same simple calculation at three levels catches most pricing and cost problems before they grow.

Frequently asked questions

What is the profit formula?
Profit = revenue − total costs. Profit percentage = profit divided by revenue, times 100.
What should I include in costs?
Everything the revenue depended on: materials, labour, fees, delivery and a share of overheads. Leaving costs out flatters the answer and misleads the next decision.
Is profit the same as cash in the bank?
No. Profit is an accounting measure over a period; cash also moves with timing: stock bought, invoices unpaid, loans repaid. Healthy businesses watch both.
